For the Wildbakers, November 6th was all about California walnuts. The first free workshop on the subject of “Baking with California walnuts” took place at Backhaus Dries in Rüdesheim at the Rhine. Of course, the two baking experts brought brilliant recipe ideas with them – for example, the “Voll auf die Walnuss” (walnut) bread or the “Spelt Walnut Braid”. Jörg Schmid and Johannes Hirth baked and tasted diligently together with four qualified staff members of the bakery. Not only the bakers really liked the workshop. Over 160 customers of Backhaus Dries attended the event and could look over the professionals’ shoulder.
Backhaus Dries is convinced of the consistently high and reliable quality and ordered immediately 80 kg of California walnuts. They are now processed into a new Christmas stollen under the name “California Walnut Dream”. Additional product innovations are planned.
